Final Fantasy 16 PC Version Could be Announced Soon as More Evidence Emerges

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement whenever a new Final Fantasy game is on the horizon! The recent discovery of a Game Ready driver profile for Final Fantasy 16 in Nvidia’s latest driver update has me buzzing like a caffeinated hummingbird. It feels like Square Enix might be gearing up to dish out some juicy news about this long-awaited title soon!

Approximately one year has passed since Square Enix confirmed that a PC version of “Final Fantasy 16” is under development. While we’re yet to hear an official release date, there are signs that we might get some updates about the action game for the platform soon.

A user on Reddit, as tweeted by @Wario64, has found that Nvidia’s latest Game Ready & Studio Driver 560.81 contains a hidden reference to Final Fantasy 16. While it’s not explicitly stated in the driver’s official release notes, the software includes a game-ready profile for a potential PC version of Final Fantasy 16.

It’s possible that the release of the PC version for the action game might be nearer than what unofficial information from Square Enix implies so far.

In March, producer Naoki Yoshida announced that the PC version of Final Fantasy 16 was approaching its final optimization stages. He also mentioned a plan to release a demo for players prior to the full launch. When it eventually comes out, both expansions – Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide – will be available on the platform alongside Final Fantasy 16.

After the PC launch, there’s a possibility that Final Fantasy 16 could also appear on Xbox Series X/S, hinted at by previous statements from the game’s creators.

It seems that the recently released NVIDIA Game Ready & Studio Driver 560.81, which came out this morning, contains a game-specific profile for Final Fantasy XVI (PC).
