As a long-time fan who has seen the highs and lows of the Final Fantasy series, I must say I am thrilled by the recent news about Final Fantasy 16 potentially coming to Xbox Series X/S! I’ve been eagerly waiting for my next adventure in the magical world of Eorzea, and the possibility of experiencing it on my Xbox feels like a dream come true.
With sales of both “Final Fantasy 16” and “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” falling short of Square Enix’s expectations, the company has decided to shift its strategy towards a multiplatform approach. However, this raises questions about when some of their previously released games will become available on other platforms. As for “Final Fantasy 16,” which was recently launched on PC, it appears that an Xbox release is quite likely.
In a recent chat with Video Games, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida has hinted that Square Enix aims to make Final Fantasy 16 available on Xbox Series X/S. This means that fans eagerly anticipating playing this action-packed title on the platform shouldn’t lose heart just yet.
Yoshida stated, “We did reveal the PC version of the game, and regarding the Xbox edition, we aim to launch it on Xbox. However, I can’t provide details about when exactly the game will be released at this time. But rest assured, there is definitely a chance for its release, so don’t lose faith.
It’s not a new topic that discussions about Final Fantasy 16 potentially being released on Xbox have surfaced. Earlier this year, Yoshida suggested Square Enix might make it available on “other platforms” after the PC release. Shortly following, director Hiroshi Takai seemed to hint at an Xbox release as well. Additionally, numerous leaks suggest that this action game is indeed planned for Xbox.
