As a seasoned gamer with decades of modding experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia when I hear about the impending chaos that is bound to engulf the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth modding community on PC. The allure of tinkering, tweaking, and transforming games into our own unique creations is as addictive as a Materia granting us limit breaks in real life.
Much like politely requesting the sea to pause its waves, Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has kindly asked modders and players for a bit of self-control. However, given our internet experiences, it’s highly probable that his requests will go unheeded. When the PC version launches on January 25th, it’s likely that the Nexus Mods page will transform into a chaotic, unrestrained realm.
“We appreciate the creativity of the modding community and value their work… However, we kindly ask modders not to create or install anything obscene or inappropriate.
