When Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade eventually releases on the yet-to-be-revealed Nintendo Switch 2, it will mark an end to the game’s PlayStation console exclusivity. It appears that Square Enix has bigger plans for Nintendo’s upcoming next-gen console beyond just this release.
In a new addition to its Creator’s Voice series, Nintendo has shared a video centered around the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade” and the person directing it, Naoki Hamaguchi, who is also in charge of its sequel. In this video, Hamaguchi hinted that not just the initial game but the entire “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” series, including future installments such as “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” and the final part of the trilogy, are intended for Nintendo Switch 2.
It aligns well with earlier whispers and speculations, as it was suggested earlier this year that “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” might release on the Switch 2 in 2026. Additionally, there were reports indicating that both the “Remake” and “Rebirth” are destined for Xbox Series X/S as well.
Both the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” and its sequel “Rebirth” can be found on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and personal computers. However, a release date for the “Remake” on Switch has not been disclosed as of now.
