As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for epic narratives and immersive gameplay, it’s always a delight to delve back into the world of Final Fantasy VII. The latest update for the Remake feels like a minor tweak, but as someone who values the haptic feedback of my DualSense controller, I appreciate Square Enix addressing the vibration issue. It’s odd that this bug cropped up in both games, but I’m just glad it’s been squashed!
Surprisingly, Square Enix has rolled out an update for the game “Final Fantasy VII Remake” this week, addressing an issue that’s been persisting. Given that “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” was launched earlier in 2024, Square Enix had completed their work on the previous installment in the series for quite a while. In fact, the last time “Final Fantasy VII Remake” received an update was back in February, right around when “Rebirth” debuted. At that time, Square Enix made minor adjustments to the game to make it more compatible with its sequel. Now, as 2024 draws to a close, they’ve released one last patch for “Final Fantasy VII Remake” to rectify a bug predominantly affecting PS5 users.
Immediately downloadable, here’s the latest update for “Final Fantasy VII Remake”. This minor update is labeled as version 1.003 on PS5 and 1.005 on PC. Its main purpose seems to be fixing problems with the DualSense Wireless Controller’s vibration function not functioning correctly. Apart from this, Square Enix has not made any other changes to “Final Fantasy VII Remake” with this update.
The peculiarity with the recent update of the ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ is that an identical problem affecting DualSense controllers was also present in the upcoming ‘Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’. Consequently, Square Enix released a comparable update for ‘FFVII Rebirth’ to tackle this predicament. Unfortunately, specifics on the underlying issue were not disclosed, but it’s reassuring to know that the problem has been addressed.
Moving forward, Square Enix has disclosed that “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” will debut on PC next month, specifically on January 23rd. Following this release, attention will shift towards the third and concluding installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series. At present, Square Enix has yet to specify a launch date for this game or its official title. However, it is guaranteed that when it does appear, it will initially be available as a timed exclusive on PlayStation systems.
