Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Will be “Even Bigger” Than Rebirth, Director Says

As a longtime fan of the Final Fantasy series, I can confidently say that the anticipation for the final installment of the Remake trilogy is reaching new heights. Having played through the first two games, I was already astounded by their scope and ambition, but hearing Director Naoki Hamaguchi’s promises of an even bigger world in the third game has left me absolutely thrilled!

As a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy series, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth earlier this year. Having played and adored many installments in the franchise, I had high expectations for this game, especially since it’s a remake of one of my all-time favorites. Despite not meeting its sales targets, the action RPG has been universally praised by critics, earning rave reviews for its mind-boggling size and scale, among other things.

During a recent live discussion focusing on the progress of ‘Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’, and hinting at the concluding part of the ‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘ series, director Naoki Hamaguchi shared his enthusiasm for the game, indicating that it will build upon and grow beyond what we’ve experienced so far from the remake trilogy.

Speaking about the last game in the Remake trilogy, he expressed a surge of anticipation and high hopes for its success. He fervently wishes that fans share his enthusiasm and have lofty expectations for this upcoming title. Rest assured, they are committed to meeting and surpassing those expectations by further developing and enlarging the world of Final Fantasy 7.

Hamaguchi further mentioned that efforts are being poured into completing the last part of the trilogy, and he’s optimistic it will be a remarkable addition to the series – a sentiment he emphasized strongly, to put it mildly.

“As we speak, the development team is putting in a lot of effort and aiming to create a game that surpasses all your expectations. I am certain that the third installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will regain its popularity as one of the most beloved and widely-played video games in history once more.”

Previously this year, Yoshinori Kitase, the producer, hinted that Square Enix aims to conclude the development of the last game in the trilogy by 2027. According to the creators, this upcoming game will offer increased flexibility in battles, a revamped world designed for airship navigation, and an enhanced version of Queen’s Blood, among other improvements.
