As a longtime fan of the Final Fantasy series, particularly Final Fantasy 7, I can hardly contain my excitement upon hearing the news about Tifa Lockhart’s role in the upcoming third game of the remake trilogy! Having grown up with these characters and their stories, I have always felt a deep connection to them, and Tifa has been no exception.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that the director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Naoki Hamaguchi, has revealed exciting news about Tifa Lockhart! He mentioned that in the upcoming third installment of the planned trilogy, we can expect to see more focus on Tifa and her incredible strength.
Based on posts by user Genki (previously known as Twitter), who shares gaming industry updates from Japan, it’s suggested that Tifa in the third installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will be portrayed as a more robust character compared to her appearances in the first two games.
Besides featuring a more powerful Tifa, the third game will introduce a unique gameplay mechanism that centres around her character, though specifics about this feature remain undisclosed at present.
First unveiled on PlayStation 5 in February, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” has garnered significant critical acclaim. Yet, it appears that the game hasn’t achieved the sales Square Enix had anticipated, as they disclosed in May that it hadn’t reached its sales goals. To put this into perspective, April reports suggested that “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” sold about half the number of copies as “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” did within the same time span.
The third game in the series is likely in production, and doesn’t yet have an official title.
