A surprising hint for the upcoming chapter of “Final Fantasy VII Remake” could possibly be on the horizon. Following the release of “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” last year, enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the third installment in this remake trilogy. While Square Enix has shared some details about Part 3 and what it might entail, they’ve remained tight-lipped regarding its official reveal. Consequently, an unexpected teaser connected to the game today has left many fans taken aback.
Over the weekend, Square Enix unveiled a fresh collection of Final Fantasy cards for the game Magic: The Gathering, set to hit stores in June. This upcoming release promises to showcase numerous characters from the Final Fantasy series, so you can expect fan favorites like heroes and villains from Final Fantasy VII to receive their own cards.
In what way does this connect with the upcoming “Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3“? It turns out that Tetsuya Nomura, who is directing the trilogy of Final Fantasy VII Remake, was involved in creating some artwork for a new Magic: The Gathering set. More specifically, he designed two different versions of Sephiroth, one of which is Safer Sephiroth. Interestingly, this card’s representation of Sephiroth varies slightly from his appearance in the original Final Fantasy VII. However, Nomura has remained tight-lipped about the reason for this alteration.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that the design of Safer Sephiroth in the latest version differs from the original game, but unfortunately, I can’t divulge the specifics behind this change, as Tetsuya Nomura mentioned in his recent statement on social media.
It seems clear that the updated design for Safer Sephiroth could potentially tie into Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3. However, it’s unknown if this is his confirmed appearance in Part 3, as the title for the third part has not been announced yet. Tetsuya Nomura’s design change certainly hints at a connection, and fans are already speculating about why Safer Sephiroth’s appearance was changed.
Currently, we don’t have much information about the third part of Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, Square Enix has confirmed one thing – unlike the initial releases of Remake and Rebirth, the next installment won’t be restricted to PlayStation hardware alone. Additionally, Square Enix has hinted that the entire remake trilogy will eventually be playable on Nintendo Switch 2.
