Fire Country Adds Supernatural Star Jared Padalecki to Season 3 Cast

As a long-time fan who’s witnessed the Supernatural brothers’ journey from hunting demons to battling wildfires, it’s a delightful twist of fate! Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, the Winchester duo we grew up with, are now sharing their screen presence with us in different CBS procedurals.

In 2024, for the second occasion, an actor from the cherished series Supernatural, specifically Jensen Ackles, appeared in a well-known CBS investigative drama. Last year, Ackles featured as a significant guest star in the initial season of Tracker, and it’s expected that he will reappear in Season 2. Interestingly, this week, Ackles’ frequent collaborator on Supernatural, Jared Padalecki, followed suit by securing a part in CBS’s Fire Country as it prepares for its third season.

As reported by Variety, Jensen Ackles (Padalecki) has signed on to star as a guest character in Season 3 of Fire Country. He will portray a California firefighter named Camden. Ackles is scheduled to feature in three episodes this season, but it remains unclear if Camden’s role may expand in future seasons.

According to Variety’s account, Camden is characterized as a fearless firefighter from Southern California, possessing the casual air of a surfer, who is a formidable presence. Upon meeting Max Thierot (Bode), he instantly recognizes his inherent, raw acting talent.

Jared Padalecki played a key role in every season of the long-running series, Supernatural, and then took on the main character in The CW’s Walker. There have been whispers about Padalecki possibly working again with Ackles and Supernatural’s creator Kripke on Amazon’s show, The Boys, but as of now, no official news or details have been shared.

First Dean, Now Sam

Before Jared Padalecki took on Fire Country, I was thrilled when Jensen Ackles signed up for Tracker as Russell Shaw, the estranged sibling of main character Colter Shaw (portrayed by Justin Hartley). His powerful performance in the final episode of Season 1 left fans eagerly anticipating more. Now, Ackles has confirmed that he intends to collaborate with Hartley once again during Season 2 of Tracker.

Last month at San Diego Comic-Con, Hartley discussed his collaboration with Ackles and how the character of Russell came to be in the show “Tracker” with ComicBook.

“He mentioned that the character portrayed as the brother in the novel is deeply complex. There’s palpable strain due to their past experiences, but they are brothers after all. From the start, there’s been no communication between them, which makes their current situation even more intriguing – sharing a task together. It’s quite engaging, he believes, and it offers an unique perspective of Colter, as we witness a loner who usually operates independently being paired with another character. Initially, there’s tension, but eventually, perhaps towards the end, some mutual respect and affection may emerge.”
