David Production, the studio behind hit anime adaptations such as “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” and “Fire Force,” is set to debut an original anime titled “Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse.” The series was conceived by Fujiko Sakuno, Hideya Takahashi, and Akuto Sato for David Production. While the anime will make its television premiere on Fuji TV, a manga adaptation of the original story has already been published in Kodansha’s “Morning Two” magazine since February 6th. Crunchyroll announced it will stream the series simultaneously worldwide (excluding Asia) starting July 2nd, with new episodes airing weekly in Japan.
Crunchyroll has previously streamed works by David Production, such as “Fire Force” and certain seasons of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”. However, Netflix currently holds exclusive rights to stream “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean”, the latest installment in the popular series. Previously, Takahashi was the director for “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind” and will be directing “Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse”. As of now, Crunchyroll has not confirmed if the new anime will have a same-day dub, but they have announced the full Japanese cast for “Onmyo”.

In my recent observations, it appears that the initial unveiling for the “Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse” anime exclusively disclosed the names of its primary characters. However, I’ve recently gathered additional information from Crunchyroll regarding the remainder of the cast, encompassing the talented voice actors as well.

Taihi Kimura steps into the anime world as the main character Narihira Takeru in the upcoming series “Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse.” Maaya Uchida and Ryohei Kimura will voice two other prominent roles within the show. Uchida, a seasoned voice actress, is recognized for her leading roles in “Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions” and “Noragami.” Apart from being an actor and singer, Kimura gained popularity for his performances in “Haikyu!!”, “Angel Beats!”, and “Tokyo Ravens.
Onmyo KAITEN Re:Birth Verse is a New Type of Isekai
The anime “Onmyo KAITEN Re:Birth Verse” introduces a rebellious teenager named Takeru who has an unusual infatuation with a girl in his dreams named Tsukimiya. After an unexpected mishap, Takeru mysteriously awakens in a futuristic metropolis called Denji Heiankyo. To his astonishment, he encounters Tsukimiya almost immediately upon arrival. Strange creatures roam the city, and it’s soon revealed that there are superhumans with extraordinary powers known as onmyoji. In Denji Heiankyo, these individuals were once considered ancient court officials with mystical abilities in magic and divination. They serve to defend the city from monsters, with Abeno Seimei being recognized as the most skilled onmyoji within the metropolis.
Following the demise of Takeru and Tsukimiya at the hands of a beast, Takeru experiences a resurrection, discovering he has jumped through time. He subsequently commences training with Seimei to enhance his novel abilities. Preliminary scenes from “Onmyo KAITEN Re:Birth Verse” display Takeru’s talents, such as concealing himself in energy to assume the appearance of a massive monster, employing this form to combat adversaries. The action is anticipated to be extravagant and vibrant, traits that David Production has consistently demonstrated in its other works.
