Firerose Breaks Silence as Trace Cyrus Expresses Concern for Billy Ray's Well-Being

Billy Ray Cyrus‘ ex Firerose is sharing her perspective.

The Australian vocalist, who tied the knot with the creator of “Achy Breaky Heart” in October 2023 but later got divorced seven months afterward when he filed for separation, spoke up following Trace Cyrus‘s statement that they and their siblings were concerned about their father. Trace made these remarks shortly after his dad had a noteworthy performance at President Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball post the January 20 inauguration.

Firerose shared with Page Six on January 23 that what’s visible in public now mirrors many of the private experiences we had during our relationship. It’s quite disheartening to witness him still grappling with those same issues, but it brings me relief to see the truth emerging.

He said, at age 25, he emphasized that discussions about his performance improvements are beneficial for him in the long run since genuine healing occurs when one acknowledges the truth and admits to having an issue.

As a devoted fan, I wasn’t alone in expressing my sentiments after Billy Ray’s performance, which encountered numerous technical issues throughout his two-song set. At one point, he even asked the crowd, “Is it that you want me to keep singing or should I just leave the stage?” Interestingly enough, his son Trace penned a heartfelt letter to him following the event.

From my earliest recollections, all I can recall is being captivated by you and considering you the most amazing person I’ve ever known,” began a 35-year-old in a January 22 Instagram post (the one Billy Ray Cyrus shares with his ex-wife Tish Cyrus). “I yearned to be just like you. The day you welcomed me into your family was the most joyful moment of my life. Regrettably, the person I longed to become so dearly is hardly recognizable now.

It appears as though life has worn you down, and it’s hard to miss that everyone else can see it except for you,” Trace went on. “I understand if you feel angry with me for sharing this, but at this point, I don’t have much concern left.

The band member from the Metro Station expressed concern that for quite some time, he, along with his sisters Miley Cyrus (age 32), Brandi (age 37), and Noah (age 24), have been deeply concerned about their father, as they feel he has distanced himself from all of them.

While composing this with tears streaming down, I want you to understand that my words are born out of affection tinged with apprehension about your potential departure from our world prematurely,” he continued. “We’ve been out of touch for a while, but let me share some good news: it’s been over a year and a half since I last had a drink, and guess what? I feel fantastic.

In the end, Trace made it clear that although he isn’t certain about what might be troubling Billy Ray, he will always be there to support him regardless.

He said, “I’m not entirely sure about the specific issues you’re facing, but I have a strong hunch. If you feel comfortable, I’d be more than happy to offer assistance. Remember, I’m here if you need me. Until then, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Billy Ray himself pointed out that the performance problems were solely due to technical hiccups. He expressed that he was there for the audience and they all had a great time.

Even if my microphone, guitar, and speakers hadn’t functioned, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss the opportunity to play at this event,” the singer of “Some Gave All” posted on Instagram on January 21st. “I was there because President Donald J. Trump had invited me.

Despite being distant from most of his kids, Billy Ray still maintains a connection with his youngest son Braison, who is 30 years old. Interestingly, they have collaborated on a forthcoming album scheduled for release in the spring.

Braison shared that over the past year, he’s grown closer to his father than ever before. In a press release on January 24th, he expressed that this new album offers him the chance to share his father’s story through music. He feels grateful for this opportunity and considers it a meaningful way to combine his passions for music, stories, and family. To bring these elements together in this project is like completing a full circle for him.

His father expressed his pride, saying, “Braison and I are really immersing ourselves in the music together.” He went on to explain, “This is a blend of real-life experiences and artistic expression – it’s all about creativity at its core.

Billy Ray Cyrus married Tish Cyrus (née Leticia Finley) on Dec. 28, 2003.

At that point in time, they were already co-parenting their 12-month-old child, Destiny Hope Cyrus, who later became famous as Miley Cyrus, and Tish was expecting their son Braison Cyrus, who made his entry into the world on May 9, 1994.

Regrettably, the person he longed to become like so dearly, he barely resembles now.

Speaking about his sisters, he went on to say, “For many years now, my sisters and I have felt truly concerned about you, yet you’ve kept us at a distance.”

Or:

Referring to his sisters, he added, “We’ve been worried sick about you for quite some time, but you’ve managed to keep all of us at arm’s length.”

Both versions convey the original message in a natural and easy-to-understand manner.

Noah was especially hurt, according to Trace.

In his message, he expressed that Noah deeply desires for you to be a part of her life, yet you haven’t been there for her. He stated, “That’s your little girl. She deserves more than this. Somehow, in a similar way to me, she still admires you, but we all cling to memories of the man we once knew and long for the day he comes back.
