Firestorm at Disneyland: Multiple Cars Damaged as Blaze Erupts in Parking Structure!

On a Friday morning, a fire erupted at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, causing damage to several vehicles and momentarily stopping operations at one of the resort’s primary parking areas.

As a passionate fan, I can share that, according to official sources, an incident unfolded right before 10 a.m. Pacific Time on the fifth floor of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. This structure is a multi-level garage situated on the northwest edge of the resort. Unfortunately, just as firefighters from Anaheim responded to reports of a vehicle blaze, the flames had already started spreading to neighboring vehicles.

According to Sgt. Jacob Gallacher, Public Information Officer for the Anaheim Police and Fire Department, no injuries were reported in the incident. Initially, it was thought that the fire originated from a Toyota RAV4, but later investigations suggest that the fire began in a Kia Sportage SUV, specifically within its engine. At present, the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Altogether, Gallacher mentioned that anywhere from six to twelve nearby vehicles were impacted by the fire. The extent of the damage depended on the distance from the origin; some vehicles experienced only smoke damage, while others became unusable because they were directly exposed to the flames.

Despite the fire happening close to one of Disneyland’s primary visitor entrances, the overall park activities remained unaffected. However, the incident necessitated a short-term halt in certain services on Friday morning. Jessica Jakary, a representative from Disneyland Resort, verified that operations at the Pixar Pals structure were temporarily halted after the fire. By early afternoon though, levels 1 through 3 resumed service for guests once more.

Images and clips captured at the location swiftly spread across social platforms, depicting dark plumes of smoke billowing from higher floors of the parking garage. Some visitors mentioned encountering delays in accessing the park due to detours or revised parking guidelines. However, Disneyland’s internal transportation services remained operational.

In the past few years, Disneyland has faced several fires. For instance, a minor fire at Fantasmic! back in 2023 caused the temporary shutdown of the evening spectacle, and it hasn’t fully resumed since then, still in its altered state.

Since the incident, the resort has once again come under close examination concerning its fire safety measures and emergency procedures. Fortunately, it seems that the recent event was quickly managed and no one was harmed.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the car fire and asking anyone who thinks their vehicle might be involved to reach out to either the Anaheim Police Department or Disneyland Guest Services for help.
