First Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer Confirms Major Celebrity Cameos

As a cinephile who’s spent countless hours navigating through the vast landscapes of cinematic history, I must say that the announcement of Happy Gilmore 2 has sent shockwaves through my movie-loving soul! The original was a gem, and it’s not every day we get to see a sequel that promises to bring back beloved characters and introduce new ones from the worlds of sports, music, and wrestling.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m beyond excited to share that the iconic Adam Sandler flick, Happy Gilmore, is finally getting a sequel! And guess what? We got our first glimpse of this long-awaited follow-up with the debut trailer on Netflix. The trailer not only brought back familiar faces from the original cast but also introduced some fresh talent from realms like music, football, wrestling, and more.

In the trailer, one of the initial stars you’ll notice is NFL player Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs. Previously confirmed to make an appearance, he is seen here warmly greeting Paul Gilmore, who appears to have been absent from golf or this particular course for a while.

Subsequently, there’s a gathering depicted where Gilmore is joined by five others, and it turns out that AEW star MJF is part of this group. Similar to Kelce, spectators were already aware that he would be included in the film (which contributes to his temporary absence from the ring), and fans are excitedly waiting to discover more about his role in the movie.

In Gilmore’s comeback to golf, there’s a fresh addition to his team – music sensation and occasional WWE Superstar, Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny can be seen rejoicing with Gilmore following an outstanding shot, and let’s cross our fingers for more entertaining scenes between the two in the movie ahead.

In the trailer, two significant characters make their comeback, with Julie Bowen’s character, Virginia Venit, being one of them. Notably, this is a significant return for Virginia’s role, as the story concludes with her and Gilmore ending up together in the movie. Fans are thrilled about Julie Bowen reprising her role in the sequel, given her impressive portrayal of Claire Dunphy in Modern Family, which has made her a familiar name in many households. The sequel allows us to catch up on Virginia and Gilmore’s life since the original film’s events.

Apart from Gilmore’s primary adversary, Shooter McGavin, makes his comeback. Known for his villainous character, Christopher McDonald reprises his role. The trailer hints at another encounter between them (this time in a cemetery), and it is evident that McGavin continues to harbor intense dislike towards Gilmore.

According to earlier reports, it’s suggested that both Margaret Qualley and Ben Stiller will be featured in the movie, with Stiller likely to resume his character, Hal, who was an orderly at the nursing home. However, these appearances haven’t been shown in the trailer yet.
