Recently, it’s been revealed that actor Anthony Mackie, known for his role as Captain America, is joining the set of “Avengers: Doomsday”. He shared a photo on Instagram Story, sitting inside an airplane with the caption, “And so it begins…” The picture featured red graphics and Mackie was wearing a Powerpuff Girls t-shirt. Despite the Cartoon Network theme, fans could easily tell where Mackie was bound for and what project he was hinting at. The photo sparked excitement among fans, as there have been leaked footage of the live-action “Powerpuff Girls” show that The CW was developing in 2021, featuring Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault.

Mackie further assured fans that the upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday” will bring back the original Marvel vibe, alluding to the series of mediocre reviews and poor box office performances of recent Marvel productions, including Mackie’s own “Captain America: Brave New World”.

Mackie shared with IGN that the team is moving forward and everyone’s looking forward to it, as they’ll soon be back in action. He added that they’re set to go out this week and can hardly wait. After Avengers: Doomsday, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will feature Thunderbolts*. It’s been confirmed that most of the cast from Avengers: Doomsday is returning for this new film. Director Jake Schreier hinted that one of the actors in Thunderbolts* could play a role in Doctor Doom’s schemes in Avengers: Doomsday. When asked about it, he said, “There might be some small or big rocks [he smiles]. I’m not sure how you want to categorize your stones.” He went on to say, “You know the character we’re discussing, and you understand that there’s a significant amount of power associated with them that could have implications moving forward. Since I’m not working on Doomsday, I don’t have all the details.

A few weeks ago, images believed to be concept art for “Avengers: Doomsday” surfaced online, but Marvel Studios insists these aren’t connected to the film. The leaked art offers glimpses into what Doctor Doom’s armor might appear in the movie, and also hints at possible characters that could feature such as the Young Avengers, Fantastic Four, and an alternate version of Black Panther (T’Challa).
