First PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle Price Revealed, and It’s a Heartbreaker

As a longtime PlayStation enthusiast with countless hours invested in countless games across multiple generations, I must say, the revelation of the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle’s price has left me somewhat speechless. The nostalgic appeal of this limited-edition console is undeniable, but a price tag that rivals the cost of a small car feels a bit excessive, even for a collector’s item.

Following the unveiling of the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle, many PlayStation enthusiasts admired its PS1-inspired design but were left wondering about one thing: what is the price of this bundle? Interestingly, Sony did not disclose the cost when announcing the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle. However, now we might understand why that price was kept secret. The first pre-orders for the massive PS5 Pro package have started in Australia and New Zealand, revealing the price for this collection as well. Unfortunately, it matches the expectations of PlayStation users.

EB Games briefly made available the initial pre-orders for the 30th Anniversary Bundle of the PS5 Pro, but these listings were later taken down from their website. It’s unclear if they sold out quickly or weren’t intended to be posted at all. Before disappearing, screenshots showed the bundle priced at approximately $1,649.95 in Australia.

Wario64 posted a screenshot on Twitter to verify both the price and the fact that all preorders, which were available in a short timeframe, had been quickly snapped up. Now, when you search for the Anniversary Bundle on EB Games, no results appear at all – not even a “sold out” page. This suggests that the listing has completely disappeared, temporarily.

The estimated cost of the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle in the United States is approximately $1,100 to $1,200 USD. In Australia, it retails for AUD $1,649.95, which is around $1,199 for a regular PS5 Pro. Preorders for this bundle are expected on the American PS Direct site at approximately 7 AM Pacific Time.

According to Wario64’s observation, the standard PS5 Pro, currently available for pre-order on EB Games, retails at AUD 1,199. In contrast, the PS5 Pro in the US is priced at USD 699. Although we can’t say definitively how much the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle will cost in the US, given that it’s approximately $500 more expensive in Australia, it’s reasonable to expect the bundle to surpass $1,000 in price for US consumers.

If the PS5 Pro bundle is available for pre-order in Australia through one retailer now, it’s likely that more widespread pre-orders will be made accessible soon, possibly by Thursday. For individuals interested in the PS5 Pro Anniversary Bundle, it’s essential to note that the package includes a limited-edition PS5 Pro console, DualSense Edge controller, standard DualSense controller, DualSense charging stand, vertical stand, and a disc drive cover (oddly, no disc drive is included within). Additional items included in the bundle are a cable connector resembling the original PS1 design, a sticker, some cable ties, and other added benefits.

Given the rapid sale of PS5 preorders when it initially launched, it’s likely that the PS5 Pro Anniversary Bundles will be snapped up in a flash. However, PlayStation Direct’s registration process may help reduce some of the reselling or ‘scalping’ that’s bound to occur.
