Fitness Influencer Gloria Zamora Fatally Shot by Estranged Husband

The fitness community is mourning the loss of Gloria Zamora. 

40-year-old fitness influencer Gloria, along with her business partner Hector Garduno (age 43), tragically lost their lives following a shooting outside a restaurant named Zamora, as reported by NBC Los Angeles on June 24th. Sadly, they both passed away in the hospital due to their gunshot injuries.

The business partners convened at a sushi restaurant in Fontana, as reported by their families, to talk about a fresh venture. Unfortunately, they were gunned down in the parking lot during this meeting. The assailant was later identified as Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, the estranged husband of one of the partners. However, he was fatally shot by a sheriff’s deputy after the officer responded to the gunfire.

In a fundraiser post, Zamora’s daughter Jazlynne Zamora commemorated her mother’s life. 

My mom tragically passed away at the hands of my stepfather Tomas, in an act of horrific violence. She’s deeply missed by her seven stunning children, ranging from 8 to 24 years old, who are now navigating their lives without the comfort, wisdom, and boundless love that only our mother could provide.

Jazlynne recognized her mother’s significant role in the fitness community and was inspired by her, particularly as a source of motivation for other mothers, through her platform and lifestyle.

In her speech, Jazlynne expressed that her mother was more than just a mom; she was a beacon in their community. This remarkable woman lifted up and motivated numerous others, constantly reminding them of their value, power, and capabilities. She often shared the belief that women are capable of achieving anything they aspire to, and she embodied those words daily.

Jazlynne observed that her bravery, compassion, and resilience had a profound impact on everyone who crossed paths with her.

On her social media platform, Gloria actively posted advice on fitness and motivational content aimed at women seeking a healthier lifestyle, particularly those post-pregnancy.

In one of her posts, Gloria expressed her desire to share her own personal experiences to guide mothers away from the same mistakes that may not yield lasting results. She wanted them to understand that while each person’s weight loss journey is unique, they can achieve their goal weight as long as they persist, because eventually, they will succeed!
