Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic PS5 Listing Reveals New Details

As a seasoned fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, I can hardly contain my excitement for the latest addition to the franchise – Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic. Having survived countless nights in the company of those animatronic nightmares, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation as Steel Wool Studios prepares to unveil this new chapter.

Previously this month, the game development company Steel Wool Studios, known for their work on Five Nights at Freddy’s games, declared a fresh main installment in the FNAF series titled “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic“. Before the bustling PAX West event where more details are expected to be unveiled, a listing for this FNAF game has been posted on the PlayStation Store, giving us some fresh insights about “Secret of the Mimic“.

This week, a listing for the game “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic” was found on the PlayStation Store, hinting that PAX West is imminent. Currently, only a version for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) is listed, leading us to speculate that there may not be a PS4 version available. However, Steel Wool Studios has yet to confirm the intended platforms for the upcoming “Five Nights at Freddy’s” game. Notably, “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2” was previously released on the PlayStation platform, but only on the PS5, so it’s plausible that “Secret of the Mimic” could bypass the PS4.

It has been confirmed that “The Secret of the Mimic” will offer virtual reality (VR) support, similar to “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2”. The previous FNAF game debuted as an exclusive VR title on the PS5 and later introduced a non-VR version. Given the information in its listing, it seems that “The Secret of the Mimic” will provide the VR-optional play experience right from the start, mentioning that both the PlayStation VR2 headset and the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers can be used but are not required when playing the game.

If you’re a fan of virtual reality and have set up PS VR2, it’s noteworthy that this game provides three distinct VR gaming modes. You can opt to play while standing, sitting, or in a roomscale setting. Moreover, we’ll likely receive more information shortly to give us a clearer picture of what the VR adaptation of “Secret of the Mimic” entails.

Over the weekend, details about the upcoming FNAF game might be revealed since Steel Wool Studios will be present at PAX. In the days leading up to PAX, they have been eagerly awaiting the event and counting down the days until they welcome visitors to their booth. So far, we’ve only seen one teaser trailer for the game, so maybe another one will be unveiled this weekend.
