In Monster Hunter Worlds, Flash Course is one of several Palico quests. This mission involves your feline companion asking you to catch some elusive Flashflies to enhance its equipment. While hunting, you may have noticed these insects here and there, but locating them quickly can be challenging if you’re trying to complete this task for the upgrade and progress further in the game.
Flash Course: Capture some Flashflies
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can spot Flashflies near Base Camp in Area 1, specifically in the cave system to the right upon exiting the camp. To capture these creatures for your Palico, ensure your net is equipped, then aim and release it at them. Keep in mind that any interaction other than capturing will agitate them, causing a cool-down period.
If you’re finding it hard to locate the elusive Flashflies, don’t worry! You can easily find them by utilizing the built-in filter. Here’s how:
1. Open the map on your device.
2. Look for the button cluster in the lower left corner.
3. Among those buttons, find the icon that represents the herb filter.
4. Scroll down the list to locate the Flashflies.
5. Once you’ve found them, set a marker or waypoint as your destination.
6. Now, hop onto your Seikret and give it the command to take you directly there.

Once you’ve caught some Flashflies, make your way back to your Palico at the mission’s base to complete the Flash Course quest. Doing so will improve your Palico’s Flashfly Capture Net. As a reward for your hard work, you’ll receive ten Flash Bombs.
As you move forward with the post-campaign material, your Palico will offer you additional tasks. One of the challenging ones is called “A Bold Stride,” which involves locating a colossal Vigorwasp. Be sure to check in on them occasionally to ensure their gadgets remain updated.
