Food Network Announces Halloween Wars, Outrageous Pumpkins, and More October Programming

As a die-hard Halloween enthusiast with a soft spot for creative culinary delights, I can hardly contain my excitement for Food Network’s spooktacular lineup this year! With my history of carving intricate jack-o’-lanterns and baking ghoulish goodies, these shows have always been the highlight of my Halloween season.

There’s still a few weeks left of summer, but enthusiasts of Halloween are eagerly awaiting the start of the spooky season. The Food Network’s announcement of popular shows coming back has made us even more thrilled for Halloween. Starting in September, viewers can watch shows like “Kids Baking Championship: Scary Good” and “Road to Halloween Wars”. Before the much-loved titles such as “Halloween Baking Championship”, “Halloween Wars”, and “Outrageous Pumpkins” officially return, these shows will be aired. For more details, check out the breakdown of Halloween programming provided below. The Food Network’s Halloween festivities will officially begin on September 16th.

Food Network’s Halloween shows are renowned for their imaginative motifs and astonishing craftsmanship, as stated by Betsy Ayala, Content Head, Food, in a press release. Starting Halloween celebrations a month early in September helps ignite fan enthusiasm early on and sustain it throughout October, right up until the end of the year.

According to the press release, this year’s Halloween celebrations kick off on Monday, September 16th at 9 p.m. ET with the return of “Halloween Baking Championship”. The show is infused with steampunk themes and features 10 skilled bakers from around the country who will craft stunning desserts inspired by a mysterious haunted science lab called ‘Henson Laboratories’. Each week, host John Henson oversees the competition, as the bakers face off in two rounds. For the first time, the opportunity to win immunity is up for grabs. Judges Stephanie Boswell, Carla Hall, and Zac Young determine who will be crowned the Halloween Baking Champion.

On this coming Sunday, the 22nd of September, at 9 PM Eastern Time, Jonathan Bennett is back as host for the new season of “Halloween Wars”. In this thrilling competition, eight talented teams consisting of pumpkin carvers, cake bakers, and sugar artists will face off. Each team is led by past champions and their task is to create jaw-dropping monster-themed displays using edible treats that are sure to impress returning judges Shinmin Li and Aarti Sequeira. The ultimate goal is for one team to emerge victorious and claim the title of “Halloween Wars” champion. Prior to the start of “Halloween Wars”, viewers will get a sneak peek into how the competitors were chosen in a special titled “Road to Halloween Wars”, airing on the same day at 8 PM Eastern Time.

“The hit show ‘Outrageous Pumpkins’ returns on Sunday, September 29th at 10 p.m. ET! This time, it’s hosted by Damaris Phillips and features a stellar lineup of 14 top pumpkin carvers in teams. They’ll be pushing the boundaries with their extraordinary pumpkin creations – think mind-blowing structures that defy gravity and mechanical monsters with amazing special effects! The competition is tougher than ever as these elite pairs strive to win the inaugural title of ‘Outrageous Pumpkins All-Stars Champions’.”

As a thrilled fan, I can’t wait for the special premiere of “Kids Baking Championship: Scarily Sweet” on Monday, October 7th at 8 p.m. ET! Four beloved kid bakers are back to honor the dual faces of Halloween – the chilling and the candy-coated. Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown will be testing their skills as they create pull-apart Halloween cupcakes infused with one of the world’s hottest peppers. But beware, a surprising twist is lurking that could jeopardize their baking tools and equipment!

Viewers can anticipate additional enjoyment and motivation from unique themed shows of “The Kitchen” and “The Pioneer Woman” in Food Network’s weekend afternoon schedule.

Halloween programming on the Food Network kicks off on September 16th.
