As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for British spy thrillers and a soft spot for Mick Herron’s gripping narratives, I must say, the casting for Down Cemetery Road on Apple TV+ has left me thoroughly intrigued!
In anticipation for Season 4 of Slow Horses premiering next week, we’re excited to share a significant cast update about an upcoming Apple TV+ show based on another book by Mick Herron.
Previously announced, it was clear that the television series based on Mick Herron’s book “Down Cemetery Road,” written by the author of Slow Horses, would feature Ruth Wilson and Emma Thompson in the cast.
Just now, we’ve learned that 10 additional stars have been added to the show: Adeel Akhtar from “Fool Me Once”, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett from “Culprits”, Tom Goodman-Hill from “Baby Reindeer“, Darren Boyd from “The Outlaws” and Tom Riley from “Murder Is Easy”.
In addition, we have Adam Godley (from The Great), Sinead Matthews (known for Hullraisers), Ken Nwosu (The Winter King), Fehinti Balogun (A Gentleman in Moscow) and Aiysha Hart (star of We Are Lady Parts) joining the cast of our series.
In a peaceful Oxford neighborhood, when a house suddenly blows up and a young girl goes missing following the chaos, local resident Sarah Tucker becomes consumed with discovering her whereabouts and recruits the assistance of private detective Zoë Boehm for help.
Zoë and Sarah unexpectedly discover themselves entangled in a perplexing web of deceit, uncovering secrets suggesting some thought to be deceased are actually alive, while many of the living appear destined to meet their end.
Enthusiasts of Slow Horses will undoubtedly find more information about Down Cemetery Road intriguing, as they eagerly await the premiere of season 4.
The showrunner of that particular series, Will Smith, hinted at the possibility of adapting all nine books from Mick Herron’s Slough House series, and there might even be plans for a spin-off in development.
“Gary wants to keep going for as long as he’s asked,” Smith said. “He loves playing the character.”
Down Cemetery Road will stream on Apple TV+ – sign up to Apple TV+ now.
