As a lifelong Football Manager enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Football Manager 25! With its shift to the Unity engine and focus on women’s football, this game promises to be more visually impressive and tactically advanced than ever before.
Each year, the Football Manager series expands upon its strong fundamentals, and this time around, the next edition has been revealed and scheduled. Sega and developers at Sports Interactive have introduced Football Manager 25, marking a shift to the Unity engine. They’ve dubbed it “the first year of a new era for football management” and “the largest technical and visual improvement in the series for a generation.
This update will involve a redesigned user interface, the addition of women’s football, enhanced matchday experiences that are more visually appealing, an upgrade in tactics that will be closer to the forefront of professional gameplay, and a revamped method for setting up a new manager. According to Sports Interactive, these changes will enable “more personalized, unique narratives”.
This year’s game offers the exciting feature that players can transfer their saved progress from last year’s version onto any platform, marking a groundbreaking moment for mobile gamers.
Football Manager 2025 will be released on November 26 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, iOS devices, and Android phones. A subsequent release is scheduled for Nintendo Switch on December 3.
