Forever Skies is Exiting Early Access on April 14

Developer “Far From Home” unveiled that their team-based survival game, titled “Forever Skies“, is set to leave Early Access on the 14th of April. This announcement came hand-in-hand with a trailer, which you can watch below for a sneak peek.

As a gamer eagerly awaiting the full release of “Forever Skies,” I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming 1.0 update will be jam-packed with fresh content! Expect new biomes, unexplored locations, and the climactic finale to the game’s captivating storyline. Back in February, we got a sneak peek at some of these exciting additions. Can’t wait to dive back in!

Two upcoming biomes set to appear in Forever Skies are the Silent City Biome and the Overgrown Ruins Biome, although further information about these fresh landscapes remains undisclosed. However, it’s been hinted that the 1.0 version of Forever Skies will introduce advanced technology within the game, facilitating the creation of new biomes dynamically as you play. These new environments will serve as habitats for exclusive resources that players can focus on collecting.

In the latest upgrade, users will gain access to numerous additional destinations, such as the Workshop, which houses the versatile Laser Cutting Tool. This tool serves multiple purposes, one of them being the ability to slice open the locks on supply boxes that can be discovered throughout the game environment.

Players can discover additional attractions beyond just hidden supply boxes, such as mysterious wall paintings that weave tales and enrich the game’s backstory, along with enormous creatures that may present a formidable battle for those who dare to engage.

In addition to the major 1.0 launch for Forever Skies, the studio has shared their plan for the remainder of 2025 as well. The Summer season is set to introduce the Airship Expansion update, while December will feature a festive event. Sandwiched between these two updates, Autumn will also bring a significant content overhaul that’s still under wraps.

As a fellow gamer excited about the upcoming content in Forever Skies 1.0, I’m happy to share that an early sneak peek of the update will be available on the beta branch starting March 25th. Keep in mind though, since this version is mainly for testing new features, you might encounter a few glitches while playing on the beta branch. Happy gaming!

Wojciech Liwanowski, COO of Far From Home, shared insights from the initial release of their game, “Forever Skies,” in an interview with GamingBolt. He discussed not only what they’ve learned during the Early Access phase but also tackled the challenge of standing out among other games in the genre and plans for post-launch support once the Early Access run concludes for “Forever Skies.

Liwanowski stated back in April 2024 that “we will certainly be expanding the game after its release, but the specific details are largely dependent on community feedback.” He also mentioned that they have been utilizing the community for a significant part of the development process already. However, post the initial version 1.0 launch, they plan to rely even more heavily on the community. Once their original vision is realized, their best course of action will be to continue engaging with players, encouraging them to share what additional elements they’d like to see in the game.

Currently, “Forever Skies” can be played on PC as a pre-release version (Early Access) via Steam. Additionally, it’s planned to launch on PS5 simultaneously on the same day.
