Previously elected U.S. President is currently recuperating following his admission to a hospital in Washington D.C., due to a high temperature, as affirmed by a representative of Clinton to NBC News.
According to Angel Ureña, who serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, President Clinton was taken to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital due to a fever and for further examination and monitoring. He’s currently in high spirits and expresses his appreciation for the medical attention he’s receiving.
Hillary Clinton, who is Clinton’s wife, and their daughter Chelsea Clinton have not made any public statements about his ongoing recovery.
Clinton has faced health concerns before, particularly since leaving office in 2001. In 2004, he underwent a quadruple bypass surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and six years later, he returned to the same hospital for a heart procedure involving the placement of two stents into a coronary artery.
Clinton’s hospitalization follows closely on the heels of the 2024 election, where he actively campaigned for various democratic candidates such as Kamala Harris, who recently faced defeat against Donald Trump, the newly elected president, in the previous month.
In 2024, it appears that we have a distinct option, in my opinion, as Clinton expressed to voters during his August 21st speech at the Democratic National Convention. He stated that Kamala advocates for the people, whereas the other candidate seems more focused on himself.
Clinton, who has addressed every Democratic convention since 1976, couldn’t help but feel nostalgic as he spoke about his past during this quadrennial event.
