Former TNA President Is “Proud and Honored” to Have Fostered Company’s WWE Relationship

Former TNA President Is "Proud and Honored" to Have Fostered Company's WWE Relationship

As a seasoned gamer and wrestling enthusiast with decades of watching ringside action under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement as I witness the interwoven tales of TNA and WWE unfold. The recent collaboration between these two iconic promotions brings back memories of the good old days when ECW, WCW, and WWF (now WWE) were the kings of the ring.

The forbidden gateway linking TNA and WWE is now accessible. Just a few months ago, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace unexpectedly emerged on the scene of WWE NXT, unveiling herself as the next challenger to Roxanne Perez’s NXT Women’s Championship. Since then, other TNA performers like Frankie Kazarian, The Rascalz, and Joe Hendry have been appearing on episodes of WWE NXT television, while up-and-coming NXT talents such as Tatum Paxley, Charlie Dempsey, and Chase U’s Riley Osborne have made their mark on TNA’s iMPACT!. Hendry has been the most active in this collaboration, as he continues his rivalry with Gallus in NXT while also competing against Josh Alexander in TNA.

Scott D’Amore Opens Up About TNA’s WWE Relationship

Starting from the summer, there has been a regular collaboration happening, but TNA’s bond with WWE goes way back to January. The key individual who has been instrumental in cultivating this relationship is Scott D’Amore.

In that period, D’Amore held the position of TNA President and was admired by both wrestling fans and the TNA team for his unyielding spirit and guidance. He actively championed the company’s transformation from Impact Wrestling to Total Nonstop Action. Notably, it was D’Amore who secured TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace a spot in the Women’s Royal Rumble eight months ago.

As an ardent fan, I’ve always believed in a collaborative effort between TNA and WWE. It’s with great pride and humility that I claim to have spearheaded this alliance. On Busted Open Radio, I shared my thoughts, saying, “I simply asked, ‘Why aren’t we working together?'”

A few weeks following Grace’s WWE Royal Rumble performance and TNA’s rebranding, Tony D’Amore was released by the company. It seems that D’Amore and TNA owners, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, had conflicting visions for the company’s future, resulting in their eventual separation. Prior to his departure, D’Amore made an attempt to buy TNA outright, but Anthem refused.

As a seasoned professional who has spent years working tirelessly to build my reputation and leave a lasting impact in this industry, I feel it is crucial to set the record straight: everything that TNA is currently undertaking is their own doing. They are the ones engaging in those discussions, making decisions, and shaping the direction of the company.

Every Thursday at 8 PM Eastern Time, you can catch the show TNA iMPACT! on AXS TV, and on Tuesdays at the same time, WWE NXT airs live on USA Network.
