As a die-hard wrestling fan who has followed Bobby Lashley’s career since his early days in TNA and WWE, I am both excited and intrigued by the possibilities that lie ahead for The All-Mighty. For years, we have witnessed Lashley’s journey through ups and downs, from his initial struggles to find his footing in WWE to his triumphant return as a dominant force in the main event scene.
What lies ahead for Bobby Lashley? Over the weekend, it was revealed that his WWE contract was approaching its end and he hadn’t re-signed yet, as he wanted to explore other opportunities in the open market. Lashley joined WWE six years ago, picking up from his initial stint that started in 2005. His comeback wasn’t smooth sailing at first, with controversial storylines involving Sami Zayn and Rusev drawing criticism. However, he gained momentum by 2020 and reached the pinnacle of capturing the WWE Championship in March 2021. Since then, Lashley has been a consistent presence near the main event, but his recent performance leveled off to midcard status.
Based on the news, Lashley, accompanied by his longtime manager MVP, might be leaving WWE. MVP rejoined WWE in January 2020 and has primarily worked as a manager, teaming up with Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, and Omos. The previous WWE United States Champion has been vocal about his criticisms of Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s booking in WWE, expressing disappointment over the lack of opportunity to revive the popular stable, The Hurt Business.
Bobby Lashley Invited to GCW By Former WWE Star
Instead of “While the hot speculation is that The Hurt Business could reunite in a company like AEW,” you could say “There’s buzz that The Hurt Business may reform in a popular promotion such as AEW.” And instead of “one former WWE star wants to see Bobby Lashley take his talents to the hottest independent promotion in the game,” you could paraphrase as “A former WWE star expresses his hope that Bobby Lashley will join the most exciting independent wrestling organization.”
On Twitter, Matt Cardona extended an invitation to Bobby Lashley at Game Changer Wrestling. He acknowledged that Lashley had “eliminated Zack Ryder” in the past and expressed gratitude for this encounter in a GCW wrestling ring. The last match Cardona participated in WWE, and under the Zack Ryder persona, was against Bobby Lashley on the March 9, 2020 episode of Monday Night Raw.

After parting ways with WWE in April 2020, Antonio Cardenas, formerly known as Cardona, changed his public identity. Since then, he has emerged as the most prominent figure on the independent wrestling circuit. He has secured top titles in various promotions worldwide and attracted large audiences to every show he’s appeared in. Currently recovering from a torn pectoral muscle injury, Cardona continues to impact storylines behind the scenes, primarily acting as GCW’s General Manager. Previous rivalries from his WWE tenure, including those with Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) and Kane (Blue Kane), have been carried over into GCW.
