Initially, Fortnite was designed as a zombie-themed game, and with the forthcoming The Walking Dead collaboration, it’s set to revert back to its original zombie format.
The highly acclaimed series is planning a partnership with Epic Games’ widely successful shooter game. Here’s what we might anticipate and the possible timeline.
Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about the upcoming crossover, covering its launch date and all the fresh features it offers for your enjoyment.
When is The Walking Dead coming to Fortnite?
Essentially, as of March 25th, Fortnite now includes elements from The Walking Dead, offering an abundance of fresh resources and content for players to employ within both the Battle Royale mode (UEFN) and the creative workshop (Fortnite Creative).
You can create your personalized maps based on The Walking Dead theme, but I regret to inform you that you cannot release any islands utilizing these templates before May 16th.
However, there’s more excitement coming! Starting from April 4th, you can grab the Negan Outfit from the Item Shop – it marks the first The Walking Dead skin to be added since the Rick Grimes skin was introduced in 2021.
And if you don’t feel like purchasing the Negan skin, you’ll still be able to use him in-game.
From 8th April onwards, Negan will be available to use as an NPC in the regular game, too.
What to expect from The Walking Dead in Fortnite
In addition to the character skins, assets, and Negan NPC, a collection of fresh game content is also being incorporated into the game as part of this collaboration.
In the game, both the Shiva Shotgun and Negan’s iconic club, Lucille, are set to appear among the collectible items.
There will also be a brand-new prefab – the Prison Prefab.
In this scene from the series, Rick’s group of survivors encountered the military forces of Woodbury in a confrontation.
As players progress through the structure, they’ll encounter both Walkers and hazards. They can select from among eight distinct layouts to determine their pathway.
