As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Fortnite never ceases to surprise me with its innovative features. The latest addition, Sleep Mode, is no exception. While it might sound like a feature straight out of a sci-fi movie or a Pokémon game, it’s actually a practical tool designed to help manage gameplay.
As part of the v31.30 patch in Fortnite, Epic has added a new feature called Sleep Mode.
We’re here to explain how it works and what the timer does in the game.
In most cases, Epic introduces fresh elements in Fortnite, but what makes this different is that the setting for this new feature gets turned on automatically during game updates. This unique aspect of the game has been designed to enhance the gaming experience.
Keep reading to discover what the new feature does and how to change it in-game.
What is Fortnite Sleep Mode?
Initially, one might assume this refers to a Pokémon-related sleep scenario, but in reality, “Sleep Mode” in Fortnite activates when a player remains inactive for a prolonged period of time.
When the Sleep Mode is activated, players will no longer have access to Voice Chat, their matchmaking sessions will be terminated, and their Epic status will automatically indicate that they are away.
This will then resume once you start playing the game again.
