Fortnite update today (17th September): What changes in the patch notes?

As an ardent gamer who has weathered countless storms and battles in the ever-evolving world of Fortnite, I must say that today’s V31.20 update is nothing short of a treasure trove for us gamers. The introduction of the Day of Doom Limited Time Mode, the return of the beloved Klombos, and the new LEGO expansion, The Lost Isles, are just some of the exciting additions that have me itching to get back into the game.

As a cinephile and gaming aficionado, I’m eagerly anticipating the release of Fortnite’s V31.20 update, slated for today. The patch notes hint at some significant gameplay enhancements that are sure to shake up the battle royale landscape.

In this latest update, you’ll find fresh gameplay options like new game modes, character customizations, and weaponry, available for both the Battle Royale and LEGO versions of the game.

In the ongoing Chapter 5 Season 4 chapter, centered around Marvel themes, Doctor Doom is causing chaos on Battle Royale Island. However, gamers are now presented with an exciting new challenge: defeating Doctor Doom’s minions in the eagerly awaited Special Mode, temporarily available for play.

Since 9 am in the UK, the game’s servers have been being maintained. This means we won’t have much longer to wait before getting back to playing. Let’s dive into what we already know about the game’s most recent update, as outlined in the patch notes.

What changes in the Fortnite update today?

In today’s update for Fortnite, one major change that stands out is the debut of a fresh Limited Time Mode named Day of Doom.

In line with the Marvel motif from Chapter 5 Season 4, this segment is designed to divide a total of 32 participants into duos.

On one side, players take on the role of Doom’s Minions, tasked with gathering six Artifacts first and then defeating their opponents – the Avengers’ Allies. The Avengers’ heroes merely need to eliminate Doom’s troops before they can acquire the items – quite straightforward, wouldn’t you say?

Fortnite’s page on X also teased a shiny new Iron Man armour skin.

So shiny. So new.

A significant development is on its way, featuring an extension for LEGO Fortnite named The Lost Isles. This addition brings forth five fresh locations to discover, such as a coastline overrun by pirates and a picturesque mountain landscape.

Additionally, it brings back the cherished Klombos – a creature known from the Battle Royale gameplay – that players can win over by offering them food.

Additionally, you’ll discover an assortment of novel weaponry such as the musket, javelins, and a LEGO Key for navigating the area.

Below is a full breakdown of what is coming in the V31.20 update.
