As a seasoned gamer with decades of multiplayer shooting games under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I hear about titles like FragPunk. The unique blend of gameplay mechanics and the promise of cross-play have been missing from the genre for far too long.
The game “FragPunk” developed by Bad Guitar Studio and published by NetEase Games, which has stood out as one of the more distinctive upcoming multiplayer shooters since its initial reveal earlier in the year, received further details at Tokyo Game Show. Specifically, a date for its closed beta testing was announced.
Starting October 10th, FragPunk’s closed beta will commence and continue until October 21st. Cross-play is confirmed to be supported, and you can sign up for the beta right now. The game promises a substantial content offering, boasting six modes and maps each, 12 playable characters, and a total of 17 weapons to choose from. Additionally, some Shard Cards – the fundamental mechanic that FragPunk is based on – will be included as well.
Additionally, a fresh game trailer has come out, revealing gameplay footage along with additional information, such as about its upcoming beta. Take a look at it down below.
FragPunk is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and is due out sometime in 2025.
