As a seasoned gamer with decades of combat under my belt, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming release of FragPunk from Bad Guitar Studio. Having dabbled in a myriad of shooters, I’ve seen the evolution of gameplay mechanics and the rise of unique strategies that keep this genre fresh and exciting.
NetEase is enjoying success with “Marvel Rivals,” but they also have another competitive multiplayer game on the horizon – Bad Guitar Studio’s “FragPunk.” This free-to-play tactical shooter, set for release on March 6th, 2025, will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A fresh trailer previews some of the upcoming Shard Cards. Take a look at it below.
According to our earlier evaluations of FragPunk during its closed beta phase, Shard Cards serve as means for players to introduce modifications in a game-in-progress. These cards grant advantages such as Big Head, which simplifies landing headshots, though the enemy team can also utilize similar cards. Newer Shard Cards offer Small Head, shrinking the target’s head size and making it more difficult to score headshots.
In addition, you have the freedom to reverse roles completely, convert firearms into defensive turrets, deploy bouncing explosive projectiles, and many other exciting features. At the game’s release, there will be over 100 cards available for free unlocking, with additional content being added later. Keep an eye out for further updates about FragPunk, including news on a potential open beta before the launch date.
