Frankie Muniz is not a big fat liar when it comes to sharing his fondness for his past roles.
The actor who played Malcolm in the Middle is preparing for a return to the popular sitcom’s revival. When asked about revisiting another iconic role, he expressed thoughts on potentially reprising his character from the 2002 teen comedy film Big Fat Liar.
In an exclusive chat with Will Marfuggi from TopMob News, Frankie shared his constant sense of pride over all his accomplishments. He acknowledged there were a few things he might have skipped, but overall, he cherishes everything he undertook. If the project’s script is compelling and seems promising, Frankie expressed eagerness to revisit it once more (Don’t forget to catch more from Frankie on TopMob News on Feb 11 at 11 p.m.).
In the movie, which featured Amanda Bynes, Paul Giamatti, and Sandra Oh among its stars, Frankie portrayed character Jason Shepherd, a habitual liar whose school project was swiped by a film executive and transformed into a successful movie. Interestingly, Frankie maintains a fondness for the director, Shawn Levy, who went on to oversee blockbusters such as “Free Guy” and “Deadpool & Wolverine.
Reflecting on the past, the individual mentioned how amazing it was to work under a dynamic, lively, and entertaining filmmaker who excelled in his role as director. They particularly appreciated his work on that specific movie. Expressing their desire for future collaborations, they stated, “I truly hope to have another opportunity to work with him.
With everyone chatting about a possible follow-up, Frankie found himself pondering what his character could be doing these days.
He pondered, ‘Has he really internalized the importance of truth above all else, or has he resorted to deceit again?’ Perhaps he’s a prominent movie producer these days, allegedly taking children’s stories.
Although a sequel for “Big Fat Liar” might not be under production at the moment, Shawn (who is also an executive producer and director of “Stranger Things”) has expressed his interest in creating a spinoff centered around the character of Paul, who was portrayed as the antagonist.
The Canadian filmmaker expressed in March 2022 that he’s not letting go of his ambitions for a Marty Wolf sequel. He put it this way: “If I can create a new Real Steel series on Disney+, then certainly I should be able to bring back the character of Marty Wolf!
