As someone who grew up watching the original series, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I see Kelsey Grammer back in the role that made him a household name.
I can hardly contain my excitement! Just wait until Dr. Frasier Crane, brilliantly portrayed by Kelsey Grammer, graces our screens again. Yes, you heard it right! The second season of his show is coming to Paramount Plus soon.
In the latest story, Frasier returns to Boston and endeavors to mend fences with his distant son, following a plotline remarkably similar to the one in the original show.
In the United Kingdom, the reboot generated a slight wave of interest due to the presence of Nicholas Lyndhurst, a well-known figure here but not as recognized in other parts of the world.
In a different rendition, the renowned character from Only Fools and Horses takes on the role of a once enthusiastic professor named Alan Cornwall. However, his enthusiasm for education and scholarly pursuits has significantly dwindled over time, now replaced by a newfound appreciation for premium spirits.

Frasier season 2 release date
Frasier season 2 will premiere on Paramount Plus on 20th September 2024 in the UK.
This is close to the US premiere release which is the date prior.
The second run will consist of 10 episodes, the same amount as the premier season.
Who is starring in Frasier season 2?
The regular Frasier cast will return in its entirety.
In the leading role is Kelsey Grammer, accompanied by Jack Cutmore-Scott portraying his son, Freddy. Toks Olagundoye plays Olivia, Jess Salgueiro takes on the character of Eve, while Anders Keith is cast as David and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan.
Keith’s portrayal of Niles might remind one of David Hyde Pierce, but it’s the original Niles that many fans long to see again, as he was a beloved character from the classic series.
In the same interview with Variety, Grammer mentioned this development: “Well, you see, we’ve got Niles’s son appearing on the show, portrayed by Keith. It could be intriguing to explore that connection further. However, we won’t rush it; we’ll let things unfold naturally.
It’s definitely possible for us to pen something about it. Many individuals around the globe may have watched Frasier, and would undoubtedly be thrilled at the prospect of his return.
Unfortunately, it seems we might not be waiting too long for Pierce’s return. You may remember that when Grammer last requested his comeback, Pierce replied: ” frankly, I’m no longer keen on portraying the character.
On the contrary, the returning stars, Bebe Neuwirth and Peri Gilpin, portrayed Lilith and Roz in the comeback version. Therefore, it’s plausible that these characters, along with other well-known figures, might make an appearance in upcoming installments.
For the upcoming season of the show, some fresh and recognizable actors are joining the cast: Amy Sedaris plays Dr. “Doc” Stathos, Yvette Nicole Brown portrays Olivia’s sister Dr. Monica Finch, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter Greer is cast as Roz’s daughter Alice Doyle, Patricia Heaton takes on the role of Holly, a grounded character, Dan Butler returns as original series character Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe, Edward Hibbert reappears as food critic Gil Chesterton, and Harriet Sansom Harris will once again embody Frasier’s agent Bebe Glazer.
