Free Football Manager Game Coming to PS5, PS4 Later This Year

It’s intriguing to learn that Football Manager is making a return this year, having skipped the previous one. Notably, Sega has revealed that they will be releasing a streamlined, free-to-play edition of the game for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Now open for enrollment in the closed beta testing, SEGA Football Club Champions utilizes the Football Manager engine. It’s designed to lead you from a local small club all the way up to challenging the global stage.

In this upcoming launch, there are two play modes available: Career Mode, which lets you control every decision on the field as you aim to create the most legendary soccer club ever, and Global Challenge Mode, where you’ll face off against players worldwide in intense matches.

Based on the intended platforms (mobile) and upcoming licenses, it appears that the focus is primarily on the Asian market. However, a less complex, free-to-play version of the globally renowned spreadsheet simulation could offer significant value. It’s expected that this year’s Football Manager game will still be released for the PS5.

10,000 actual football players from leagues such as the J League, K League, and Manchester City will be part of this game. Take a look at the debut trailer above for further details, or visit the official site for additional information.
