In the initial stage of “Monster Hunter Wilds“, players encounter a missing child whom they help reunite with his elder brother named Y’Sai. Initially, Y’Sai might appear to be merely a character significant for the storyline. However, as the game progresses and you achieve High Rank, Y’Sai becomes useful in some capacity later on.
In this game, certain Non-Player Characters (NPCs) function as merchants for hard-to-find resources, while others serve as Resource Gatherers, collecting specific items for you. You may also encounter NPCs who can offer you a meal, which is often superior to anything you could cook and is free of charge. This is where the character Y’Sai comes into play.
Where To Find Y’Sai In Monster Hunter Wilds
In the village of Windsong situated within the Windward Plains, you may encounter Y’Sai, a nomadic Non-Player Character (NPC) much like Murtabak who doesn’t stay put. Finding him will require some measure of good fortune due to his wandering nature. However, keep in mind that it must be daytime and the weather should be “Plentiful” for the region. Changing the weather and time can be achieved at your camp tent for 300 Guild Points.
As a devotee of the enigmatic Y’Sai, I often find myself drawn to the eastern part of our village, where he tends to linger, especially in close proximity to the Seikrets. Initially, spotting Y’Sai can be tricky due to his lack of a fixed abode, but fear not! A distinctive green dot above his head serves as an identifiable marker. However, once you’ve unlocked the privilege of receiving Meal Invitations from him, he becomes more easily traceable with an icon appearing over his head.
How To Get A Meal From Y’Sai In Monster Hunter Wilds
Following the successful completion of the quest called “Beware The Gypceros”, Y’Said offers you a complimentary meal as a reward. Simply speak with him, accept his invitation, and enjoy the brief cutscene to receive these benefits for 60 minutes in reality:
1. Increased Health Regeneration Rate (+25%)
2. Increased Stamina Regeneration Rate (+25%)
3. Temporary boost to attack power (+10%)
4. Temporary boost to defense (+10%)
5. Temporary reduction in damage taken (-10%)
- Health +50
- Stamina +150
- Attack +5
- Defense +10
- Element Resistances +10
- Skill: Lucky Meal
- Skill: Insurance Meal
- Skill: Defender Meal (Hi)
This complimentary meal supersedes any other buffs you have in play at the moment. Once accepted, it might take an in-game day or two until Y’Sai extends another invitation for a meal. You’ll receive a notification when it’s prepared. By using the map icon, your Seikret can be instructed to guide you directly to him by setting a waypoint on him, making it an excellent activity to engage in prior to a challenging hunt.
Y’Sai is also the quest giver for, “A Leviathan’s Temper.”
