As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for underrated classics, I can’t hide my excitement about the remastered release of Freedom Wars on PS5 and PS4. This gem from the PS Vita era has been a hidden treasure in my gaming library, and seeing it get a new life is like finding an old friend at a reunion.
Bandai Namco has unveiled the remastered opening video for the beloved PS Vita title Freedom Wars, originally an underappreciated gem on Sony’s handheld console. Excitingly, the game will be available on both PS5 and PS4 starting 10th January, giving it a fresh opportunity to shine again!
Initially, the game was jointly created by Dimps and Japan Studio, with the former showing immense enthusiasm towards the project. Now, Dimps is taking the lead in reviving it. Sony has agreed to grant Bandai Namco the rights to publish this game, which we’re delighted about.
“The game was one of several efforts by PlayStation to fill the void left when Monster Hunter moved from PSP to Nintendo 3DS. It features a futuristic anime style, where people are born with 1,000-year prison sentences due to overpopulation, and must work to reduce their time in prison.
Essentially, this task involves accepting assignments and slaying monsters. Furthermore, aside from firearms, you’ll also get a tool called hookshot that will aid you in traversing the unexpectedly vertical terrains.
