Friday the 13th Fans Get a Major Streaming Surprise

The legendary Friday the 13th film series might not return to cinematic grandeur anytime soon, as legal disputes over the character Jason Vorhees drag on indefinitely. In the meantime, fans eagerly anticipate new tales of Jason, and now they can enjoy a larger portion of the franchise than ever before. Remarkably, eight out of twelve films from the series are now completely free to watch, all conveniently located in one place.

Pluto TV, which is owned by the company that originally distributed ‘Friday the 13th’, has now added the initial eight Jason films to its streaming library. These movies are not only being played on Pluto’s channels, but they can also be accessed on-demand from the service whenever you want.

As a die-hard cinephile, I’m thrilled to announce that my all-time favorite ‘Friday the 13th’ slasher series has just been added to Pluto TV’s lineup! Here are the titles you can now enjoy: “Friday the 13th”, “Friday the 13th Part 2”, “Friday the 13th Part III”, “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter”, “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning”, “Friday the 13th: Jason Lives”, “Friday the 13th: The New Blood”, and “Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan”. Get ready for some chilling nights in!

Only four Jason films are missing from the current free run on Pluto. These include “Jason Goes to Hell,” “Jason X,” and “Freddy vs. Jason.” The first two films complete the original series where Jason is the main character, while the latter two, along with the remake produced by Warner Bros., are not part of the selection. Although it’s unfortunate that the entire franchise isn’t available in one place, Pluto offers a significant portion of it for now.

In simple terms, Pluto TV is a complimentary streaming platform offering live channels as well as an on-demand library. Unlike many services, no account creation or personal data input is necessary to start watching. However, if desired, you can establish a user profile to store your preferences for future viewing.

Several “Friday the 13th” movies have been accessible on Paramount+ over the past few months, with a likelihood that they’ll reappear there at some stage in the future. At present, though, Paramount has shipped the initial eight installments to its free streaming service, enhancing the Pluto TV library and potentially drawing more horror enthusiasts towards it during the early months of 2025.

As a film enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the remake of “Friday the 13th” is now streaming on Max. However, unfortunately, the three other titles are nowhere to be found on any major streaming platforms at the moment. But remember, the world of online streaming is dynamic; things can change from one month to another. So, keep an eye out for updates!
