Friday the 13th Reveals New Franchise Logo, Jason Mask for 45th Anniversary

The Friday the 13th series, known for its straightforward charm, typically features a group of teenagers venturing near Camp Crystal Lake, where they meet their untimely ends in various manners using diverse types of weapons. In all films except the first, this grim task is carried out by Jason Voorhees himself. To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the original film’s release on May 9, 1980, Horror Inc. unveiled their official “JASON UN1V3RSE” logo and a fresh hockey mask design.

In just 15 seconds, we’re given a quick glimpse into what the Jason Universe might offer fans, with Linda Cardellini, known for her roles in “Freaks and Geeks” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, signed on to portray a younger Pamela Voorhees in the upcoming Peacock series set at Crystal Lake. The legal disputes surrounding the “Friday the 13th” IP are finally resolved, indicating that the bloody train of horror is now moving forward.

A Multi-Medium Reveal

The video, which lasts for just 15 seconds, offers a closer look at a fresh Jason mask in stages, culminating in its full reveal along with the Jason Universe emblem. What makes it even more thrilling is that it features original music scored by Harry Manfredini, the creator of the franchise’s signature “ki…ki…ki…ma…ma…ma.” Notably, Manfredini has composed music for every Friday the 13th movie except for Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Freddy vs. Jason, and the 2009 remake.
