From star Harold Perrineau haunted by season 3 scene centred on his phobia

As a devoted fan of “From,” I must admit that Harold Perrineau‘s revelation about facing his lifelong phobia during filming has sent shivers down my spine! The anticipation for this season has been palpable, and knowing that Boyd Stevens is in for a tough ride only adds to the suspense.

Actor Harold Perrineau disclosed that during Season 3, there’s a scene where he faced an age-old fear of his – one that continued to disturb him for several months following the shooting.

In a secluded American town, the locals find themselves ensnared by ominous beings lurking in the nearby forest, tormenting them through unsettling mental puzzles.

In the story, Perrineau portrays Boyd Stevens, an experienced townsperson who’s been through a lot. He’s lost his beloved wife, Abby (played by Lisa Ryder), and endured more than a fair share of sorrow.

Ever since then, he’s been haunted by images of her and his missing comrades. Yet, no specter can compare to the terror he encounters during the current season (now airing in the U.S., with its UK release date still undecided).

He shared with Comic Book Resources that a particular event in one of the episodes is something he’s had a lifelong fear of. During filming, he avoided looking at it beforehand, performed the scene, and then couldn’t bear to look at it again.

“And it still stayed in my brain for months. Every time it was time to go to sleep, it would pop up. And I hated it, I really did, because it’s my phobia, right? But there was no escaping it until it just went away… But without giving anything away, it gets worse.”

In a hint for Season 3, the performer famed for Lost and Sons of Anarchy suggested that his character would face significant encounters with monsters from the show, referring to the opening episodes as “extremely dense and extremely ominous.

Speaking from personal experience, I must confess, the unfolding events can be truly draining. There’s a certain allure to the strange and eerie, but when the characters you grow fond of encounter hardships, it’s undeniably disheartening.

This season promises a lot, with enjoyable activities, but unfortunately, the strain on everyone from the town is immense and ultimately leaves people feeling rather unkindly treated.
