In a significant development, Frostpunk 2 has been expanded with a substantial content upgrade, introducing Serenity Mode, Tales from the Frostland, and district-specific temperature controls, among other features. As 11 bit studios mentions, “Our adventure is far from concluded.” They’ve also announced that the planned releases for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 are still on schedule for this summer.
The developer is putting in all efforts to provide a well-finished game at its launch for console gamers, and existing users can anticipate additional content and enhancements. Prior to the release of each DLC, a significant content upgrade will be rolled out at no cost. However, the second paid DLC named Aurora has been postponed to 2026 to incorporate new features and maintain quality. On the other hand, the first DLC, Spectrum, is still on track for this Fall.
You can now play Frostpunk 2 on your PC – here’s our take on its initial release. Despite garnering critical acclaim and selling nearly 600,000 copies by April, the game has elicited a divided reaction from fans, primarily due to the shift in scope and increased emphasis on city-building.
