Frozen 4 Teased at D23

Frozen 4 Teased at D23

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in various virtual worlds, I can’t help but feel a tinge of déjà vu as Disney announces yet another sequel to one of their beloved franchises – Frozen IV. It seems that the magic of Arendelle is far from over, and Elsa and Anna’s story will continue to unfold for years to come.

It appears that the unresolved questions from the first two Frozen films are too substantial to be addressed in a single sequel, as Disney Animation revealed plans for Frozen IV tonight during D23. The announcement is part of an eventful evening for Disney Animation, which also provided sneak peeks into Zootopia 2 and Moana 2. Currently, Disney is leaning towards sequels of popular films to regain momentum following a challenging period at the box office. Despite recent successes like Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine bringing in large sums, there’s still a long journey ahead.

At the Anaheim Convention Center tonight, Jennifer Lee, producer of “Frozen III”, shared tantalizing hints about a grand tale that grew to encompass two installments as it progressed through development.

It appears that what Lee has been hinting at for nearly a year is now becoming official; as far back as November 2023, she indicated that multiple sequels could potentially be in the works.

Lee playfully hinted, “All we’ve jointly created so far – our dedicated team, the thrilling narrative we’re crafting together – is so monumental that it might outgrow a single movie.”

At approximately the same period, Disney CEO Bob Iger was also proposing a sequel to the smash hit “Frozen”, referred to as “Frozen 4“. While speaking on the morning show “Good Morning America”, the executive shared that they were already considering another installment of this beloved franchise. This announcement took place alongside the unveiling of “Frozen” Land at Disneyland in Hong Kong.

As a long-time fan of Disney animation and especially the beloved “Frozen” series, I am thrilled to hear that not one but TWO more films are in development! Robert Iger, the man himself, made the exciting announcement, hinting at the possibility of both “Frozen 3” and “Frozen 4.” Although he didn’t reveal many details about these upcoming movies, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.

Currently, “Frozen III” is scheduled to hit theaters on November 25, 2026. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for “Frozen IV”.
