As someone who has been following and participating in Black Friday sales for years, I must say this year’s offerings are nothing short of extraordinary! From tech giants like Samsung and PlayStation to home essentials such as Silent Night and Swan, there seems to be something for everyone.
If you think you may have missed the savings during Black Friday, Cyber Monday offers another chance to grab some tech items at a discounted rate, perhaps a gaming console or a new streaming service, all while spending less than usual.
Initially launched in 2005, Cyber Monday has since transformed into a yearly shopping extravaganza. For numerous merchants, it represents the final day to offer deals before the Boxing Day sales commence.
It’s not surprising that consumers are growing more sensitive to price adjustments as numerous sales occur towards the end of the year, particularly during promotional periods, based on Adobe Analytics data.
Additionally, we suggest considering deals exclusively from reliable UK vendors, including John Lewis, Currys, and Very. For your convenience, we’ve marked the leading UK retailers currently active in their Cyber Monday sales near the end of this manual.

When does Cyber Monday 2024 start for UK retailers?
Cyber Monday starts Monday 2nd December.
This shopping event always falls on the Monday right after Black Friday.
Historically, Cyber Monday was known for online-only deals, but that’s not the case anymore. By 2024, you might come across physical stores offering discounts on Cyber Monday. Many retailers now view Cyber Monday as a continuation of Black Friday sales instead of a separate event.
What is Cyber Week in the UK?
As a cinephile, I find myself eagerly anticipating the annual event known as Cyber Week. This thrilling cinematic extravaganza unfolds over a five-day span, commencing immediately after Thanksgiving and concluding on the grand finale of Cyber Monday. And yes, the star-studded ensemble includes Black Friday in its lineup, making it an unmissable spectacle for all shoppers.
As per Adobe Analytics’ projections for Cyber Week 2024, which encompasses Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day, I anticipate a massive £4.1bn in sales. This figure represents a notable 5.8% uptick compared to the previous year, and an impressive 16% of the season’s total revenue.
It’s anticipated that Black Friday 2024 will earn approximately £1.3 billion, marking an increase of 9% compared to the previous year. Additionally, this year’s Cyber Monday sales are projected to reach a staggering £940.1 million, representing a growth of 6.7% over last year.
So, it a nutshell, Cyber Monday is set to be a successful day!
How long will Cyber Monday deals last in the UK?
Many Cyber Monday discounts are set to expire at 12:00 AM on the 2nd of December, but it’s worth noting that there have been instances where some deals continue past that date.
Various stores and companies like AO, British Airways, and Tonies are hosting sales that continue through Tuesday, December 3rd and extend to Wednesday, December 4th.
Brands like Garmin and Nintendo have occasionally announced that their sales will end on January 15th (Wednesday) and January 12th (Sunday), respectively. However, such extended sales events happen infrequently.
For a lot of retailers, Cyber Monday marks the end of the sales period until the Boxing Day sales.
Speaking of Tonies, our friends at MadeForMums have put together a guide on the best Tonies deals.
Is Cyber Monday better than Black Friday in the UK?
As Black Friday sales draw to a close, retailers often reserve their most attractive promotions for Cyber Monday. This could be because many people receive their paychecks around this time before Christmas – a very convenient timing – or maybe because the busy and competitive nature of Black Friday makes it hard for deals on Cyber Monday to stand out.
Generally speaking, Black Friday is known for people buying large appliances like air fryers and pizza ovens, while Cyber Monday is often about getting deals on tech products, with the best bargains usually found on smartphones, headphones, and computers. Interestingly, according to Adobe, smartphones accounted for 39.7% of sales during Cyber Monday 2021, marking an increase of 8.4% compared to 2020.
As I compose this text, it’s noticeable that well-known companies like Apple, Charlotte Tilbury, Xbox, PlayStation, and H&M are appearing frequently in the trending list for Cyber Monday discounts.
Regarding Charlotte Tilbury and H&M, during Cyber Monday, numerous beauty and fashion deals are launched. Last year on Cyber Monday 2023, we encountered offers such as an additional 10% discount at Jacamo, along with their fantastic savings for men’s clothing, significant markdowns from retailers like Cult Beauty and Body Shop, and a 25% reduction on eco-friendly toothbrushes, including the SURI Sustainable Electric Toothbrush, from SURI.
Currently, for Cyber Monday 2024, SURI is reinstating its 25% discount, while beauty brands like Charlotte Tilbury are providing up to 30% off their entire inventory. Similarly, Glossier has a large-scale sale offering up to 30% off as well. For those with an eye for fashion, department stores such as John Lewis are featuring Cyber Monday deals on brands such as HUSH and Mint Velvet.
