Sony and PlayStation Productions have recently released a comprehensive trailer for Until Dawn, following an initial sneak peek video this week that exceeded expectations. With two and a half minutes of footage at our disposal, we can now grasp a clearer picture of how the time loop mechanism in the movie operates. Take a look at the trailer above.
A gang of adolescents, headed by Clover, portrayed by Ella Rubin (from ‘Gossip Girl’), embark on a quest to find Clover’s missing sister. A cautionary word from Peter Stormare’s character guides them towards a mansion, where the events of the evening unfold sinisterly. When they meet their end at the hands of a novel monster, these teens are sent back to 6:45pm on that same fateful day, granting them another opportunity to unravel the mystery. It’s hinted no one has ever survived beyond the 13-day cycle of this time loop, placing a tight deadline on their search. Among the various creatures they encounter, it’s revealed that wendigos, known from the PS5 and PS4 game, are also present.
