Gabourey Sidibe Shares Sweet Photo of Her 4-Month-Old Twin Babies

Oh, my dear Gabourey Sidibe! What a captivating journey you’ve embarked upon, transitioning from the big screen to the even bigger role of motherhood! Your double life is as enchanting as the tale of Precious herself. The way you seamlessly weave your personal and professional lives, while maintaining that radiant smile and wit, is truly inspiring.

Gabourey Sidibe is living a double life.

After everything, the celebrated star has now become a mother of two following the arrival of her twins Maya and Cooper with spouse Brandon Frankel in April. More recently, she shared some insights about adjusting to life with the four-month-old babies.

In an August 1 Instagram post, the 41-year-old captured her little ones resting in bouncer seats, with Virginia Hamilton’s “The People Could Fly” book open to its cover page. She labeled it as “Story Time” accompanied by a heart-eye emoji in the caption.

Meanwhile, Gabourey and her three-year married partner welcomed a new family member in the springtime, but kept the joyful news about the birth private until June.

In a heartfelt Instagram post dated June 8th, the actress from Empire expressed her joy as she welcomed her newborns in April. She described them as little bundles of life and enthusiasm who have enriched her family’s existence. The babies are charming, amusing, and enjoy cuddling with their parents. They’re also forming a beautiful bond of siblinghood with each other.

She went on to say, “The past two months spent with them have been a joyful experience as I’ve grown to understand their unique characters and discovered the quirky things that make them chuckle. It’s been nothing short of blissful.”

The way the couple decided on the names Maya and Cooper was explained by Gabourey later on.

As I eagerly shared during an appearance on The Shade Room’s June 6 episode, Brandon has long dreamt of naming his son Cooper, so affectionately we refer to him as ‘Coop.’ Our little one named Maya was given her name just before our enchanting baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both twins carry traditional West African middle names, a tribute to beloved family members from my heritage.

Gabourey offered a peek into her life with her twins, highlighting their unique traits and the affection they already show towards one another.

“At times, Cooper might act as Maya’s voice, warning us when she’s going to vomit,” she noted. “Maya adores having her name sung to her and rules in terms of comic delivery, while Cooper cherishes his slumber and has the most amusing facial expressions.”

In my professional opinion, when it comes to this unique family, there’s one shared trait that stands out. Just like Gabourey so eloquently put it, “They all cherish the warmth of cuddling with their parents.”
