Garrett Hedlund Shares Sweet Father's Day Plans With Son Rhodes

Garrett Hedlund is preparing for an extra special Father’s Day.

Currently, the actor is busy filming a new season of Tulsa King. However, during the upcoming holidays, he will have the opportunity to enjoy the festivities off-set with his ex, Emma Roberts, and their 4-year-old son Rhodes, away from the set.

According to Hedlund, his schedule appears quite appealing. If he had been working daily that week, he would have embarked on a trip across Georgia with a companion. However, it seems this week could turn into a pleasant escape to the countryside farm instead.

After playing a role in the upcoming movie “Barron’s Cove,” which hits theaters on June 6, Hedlund will enjoy a well-earned break from acting. In this film, Hedlund portrays Caleb, a character who, while grappling with the tragic loss of his son, abducts the child he suspects is responsible.

He clarified, “This situation made me ponder about the extent one might go for their child. In truth, I find myself closely connected to my character as there seems to be no boundaries or limitations to the love I’d show.

On the Massachusetts film set, despite dealing with challenging themes, Hedlund managed to discover a touch of humor. He reminisced about this, particularly when his son paid him a visit.

In a conversation, Hedlund mentioned, “Just before I took Ethan (portrayed by Christian Convery), we were filming the scene. Incidentally, my child watched me getting hit by a car, and he found it extremely amusing. He didn’t understand the storyline at all since he’s too young, and won’t for quite some time. But to him, Barron’s Cove is synonymous with daddy getting hit by a car.

Indeed, Rhodes is still learning what his parents do for a living.

Recently, Troy was playing on screen, and Hedlund commented about the 2004 movie where he starred with Brad Pitt. He excitedly exclaimed, “That’s my father! That’s my father!

The 40-year-old remarked, “It’s such a heartwarming sight.” He’s watched movies like Pan, and he becomes so excited. Trying to grasp it all, I can see why some parts might appear as if his father is trapped inside a box.

Barron’s Cove is in theaters and on VOD June 6.
