Gavin & Stacey star joins Sigourney Weaver in The Tempest

As a long-time fan of both stage and screen, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming production of The Tempest starring Mathew Horne and Sigourney Weaver! Having grown up watching Gavin & Stacey, it’s truly heartening to see one of my favorite Essex boys stepping into the world of Shakespeare.

Known fondly as everyone’s favorite Essex native, Mathew Horne, has landed a role in director Jamie Lloyd’s forthcoming staging of The Tempest.

Actress from “Gavin & Stacey,” who is set to appear, will team up with the renowned Sigourney Weaver for a brief stint of the stage production at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in December.

Today, the complete lineup has been revealed. In this production, Horne will portray the humorous character Trinculo, while Weaver takes on the role of Prospero.

Jason Barnett plays the role of Stephano, Jude Akuwudike is Alonso, Selina Cadell portrays Gonzalo, Mathew Horne takes on Trinculo, Mara Huf performs as Miranda, Forbes Masson stars as Caliban, Mason Alexander Park acts as Ariel, James Phoon is Ferdinand, Oliver Ryan assumes the character of Sebastian and Tim Steed plays Antonio.

Known primarily for Gavin & Stacey, set to air its last episode this Christmas, James Corden (Horne) boasts a diverse theater background as well. His repertoire includes plays like The Lover / The Collection, Noises Off, The Homecoming, and the UK tour of Rain Man.

Currently, Weaver is preparing for her first performance on the West End stage. Here’s all you require to witness these actors live.
