Gears of War: E-Day – People Can Fly Confirmed as Co-Development Partner

The Coalition has revealed that People Can Fly, known for their work on Gears of War: Judgment, is back on board for Gears of War: E-Day. They will be working in partnership with The Coalition, similar to their role during the original trilogy.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to jump back into the fold and work alongside People Can Fly on the next installment of this epic series! It’s an honor and a thrilling chance to amplify the heart-pounding action and captivating storytelling that fans have grown to adore. We’re incredibly grateful for our partners’ faith in us, and we’re looking forward to embarking on this adventure together.

Guillaume Barry, the development director, additionally pointed out that the team, made up of passionate “Gears of War” enthusiasts, is putting all their effort into crafting an experience that surpasses expectations. For now, they’re not able to reveal more details, but they can’t wait until they can unveil all the thrilling work they’ve been doing.

Mike Crump, head of The Coalition’s studio, stated, “Gears of War: E-Day” isn’t merely our upcoming significant game; it’s a revisit to the elements that make “Gears of War” games unique and true. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the skilled team at People Can Fly who have been an integral part of our franchise’s history for such a long time.

In this prequel, the narrative revolves around Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago following the events of Emergence Day. As members of COG, their mission is to fight off the Locusts and safeguard Sera. This story unfolds 14 years prior to the initial game, yet it has been confirmed by The Coalition that this isn’t a spinoff but rather the next mainline title in the series.

Adventurers will delve into a fresh setting, known as Kalona City, over an extended narrative journey encompassing several days, featuring a chilling ambiance reminiscent of the original. Notably, there will be a multiplayer mode available too. Moreover, the game’s development benefits from Unreal Engine 5, incorporating ray tracing, enhanced character animations, and comprehensive destruction effects.

The game “Gears of War: E-Day” is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms, with whispers suggesting a possible release this autumn. Keep an eye out for further news until then.
