As a result, they established their own studio, The Coalition, to manage and develop the franchise further. In August 2015, The Coalition launched Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Xbox One systems. A PC version became available exclusively through the Microsoft Store on March 1, 2016.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition offers upgraded graphics, reworked cinematics, enhanced textures and effects displayed at a 1080p resolution, along with 60 frames per second (FPS) compatibility in multiplayer on Xbox One.
