A fresh promotional image for the forthcoming second season of “Gen V” offers a sneak peek into the world following Homelander’s (Antony Starr) political coup at the end of Season 4 of the primary series, “The Boys”. In this poster, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) is seen walking down a street adorned with posters of The Seven. These posters showcase Homelander, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), and Black Noir II (Nathan Mitchell), all anticipated to be key figures in the new military government established within “The Boys”. This poster also continues the pattern of linking the main series with the spinoff, as Chace Crawford’s Deep has been confirmed to feature in “Gen V” Season 2.
The debut season of the spinoff series set at Godolkin University directly paved the way for Season 4 of The Boys. In the final episode, Homelander appeared on the Godolkin University campus amidst a massacre orchestrated by radicalized Supes. Instead of stopping the violence, he confronted Marie Moreau for attacking fellow Supes and disabled her with his heat vision, thereby validating Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) as the “Guardians of Godolkin” in Vought’s subsequent cover-up. This misrepresentation framed Marie and her allies for the carnage. This storyline was later developed in The Boys, where Cate and Sam gained popularity as Supes, and the Supe-killing virus, a key plot point, was introduced. Additionally, a post-credits scene showed Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) investigating the remains of “The Woods,” the secret facility where the virus was developed, setting up future events in The Boys.

Eric Kripke, the showrunner, confirmed that “Gen V” Season 2 starts immediately after the finale of “The Boys” Season 4. This means we’ll get a glimpse into the world as it is under the circumstances established in the final episode, including martial law. Given that Homelander seized control of the United States by the end of “The Boys” Season 4, the new poster hints at the grim and challenging reality that the young Supes will encounter moving forward.
Everything We Know About Gen V Season 2
The upcoming second season of Gen V delves into a chilling world dominated by Homelander’s power. The story resumes with Marie Moreau, Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh), Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), and Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo) possibly continuing as captives, having been left in a blank white room following the Godolkin campus massacre, where they were falsely accused. Meanwhile, Cate and Sam, who were celebrated as “Guardians of Godolkin” by Vought at the end of The Boys Season 4, were last seen aligning with Homelander’s forces, setting them up as adversaries.
A key part of Season 2 will involve the show’s handling of the unfortunate demise of Perdomo. Perdomo sadly passed away in a motorcycle accident in March 2024, just before filming was set to start. The producers have decided not to replace Perdomo, but rather, they have revised the storylines to sensitively include his character’s death within the plotline, paying tribute to Perdomo and his impact on the show. To manage this unfortunate situation, Sean Patrick Thomas, who plays Andre’s father, Polarity, has been confirmed to make a return.
Hamish Linklater, known for his role in “Midnight Mass,” has been cast as Cipher, the latest Dean at Godolkin University, joining the cast for Season 2 of the series. Moreover, seven additional actors have been added to Season 2 with undisclosed recurring roles: Keeya King (from “Yellowjackets”), Stephen Kalyn (“Warrior Strong”), Julia Knope (“In The Dark”), Stacey McGunnigle (“This Hour Has 22 Minutes”), Tait Fletcher (“The Mandalorian”), Wyatt Dorion (“Eerie Hall”), and Georgie Murphy (“Accused”). This coming season of “Gen V” will play a pivotal role in connecting the storylines from “The Boys” Season 4 to its subsequent fifth and final season.
Gen V Season 2 is slated for release on Prime Video sometime in 2025.
What’s your opinion on how Homelander’s new rule, hinted at by the latest poster for Gen V Season 2, might affect the students at Godolkin University? Feel free to share your thoughts and predictions below!
