I’m excited to share that I’ve learned the long-awaited drama, “Get Millie Black,” is officially set to premiere! It kicks off with a double episode on Wednesday, 5th and Thursday, 6th of March, according to Channel 4’s confirmation. Can’t wait to see it unfold!
The two episodes are scheduled to play at 9 pm, and for those who prefer to watch the whole series at once, all five episodes of the show will be provided as a collection (or box set) for viewing convenience.
UK audiences have been eagerly anticipating the show that premiered on HBO in November over in the U.S., where it’s been gathering positive feedback from reviewers.
Originating from the pen of esteemed author Marlon James, this captivating series features Tamara Lawrance as Millie-Jean Black, a Jamaican detective who is compelled to leave Scotland Yard and later re-joins the Jamaican Police Force upon her return home.
The summary progresses as follows: “They, comprising She and her associate, Curtis, delve into unsolved disappearance cases. However, their routine is disrupted when an investigation they’re conducting intersects with another, drawing in Scotland Yard detective Luke Holborn to Kingston.
In the meantime, Star Lawrence characterized the program as both tense and shocking, urging viewers to prepare for “numerous unforeseen turns of events and characters.
She mentioned that it possesses a compelling speed with an uneasy undercurrent; it gives the impression that something is amiss, yet it catches you off guard.
Concerning her personality, she remarked that Millie Black is blunt, confrontational, sharp-sighted, and fueled by her passion for justice. She doesn’t beat around the bush and could not care less about being agreeable.
Additionally, in the series cast we find Lawrance joined by Joe Dempsie, who was part of Game of Thrones, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr known from Joan, Chyna McQueen, and the famous Jamaican singer Dorothy ‘Patra’ Smith.
