Update [Wednesday, 12th February 2025, 10pm]: The long-awaited Digimon game has been confirmed and it’s titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger. It is slated for release on PlayStation 5 sometime this year.
Visually, this new Digimon Story title appears to be a significant improvement over its predecessors. As implied by its name, the game focuses on unraveling enigmas within distorted timeframes, with your digital companions by your side. Officially, it’s classified as a turn-based role-playing game (RPG).
It appears that details about the latest Digimon Story game have been unintentionally disclosed through a pre-order listing on GameStop’s legitimate online platform.
According to a find by Gematsu on their source X, there isn’t a lot of information provided yet. What we do know is that the game seems to be titled “Digimon Story: Time Stranger,” and its release is planned for the PlayStation 5.
The timing of the leak seems to point towards an upcoming announcement, especially since a new State of Play is airing tonight. There’s a possibility that the new Digimon adventure could be unveiled in a major way. If it does, we’ll make sure to keep this article updated.
2016’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth has been quite entertaining, serving as an engaging turn-based role-playing game that centers around finding and then training your own team of digital creatures, or digimon.
